Pohuwato Regent Saipul Mbuinga said a number of government facilities such as the regent's office, the DPRD office and the regent's official residence were damaged by a group of people at a demonstration in Marisa, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo.

"God willing, we will have an apple tomorrow. As stated by the Governor, the service will still be carried out. Maybe tomorrow we will have an office together," Saipul said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 21.

His party could not confirm how much loss from the demonstration that ended in anarchism. He also ensured that no employees were victims.

The burning of the Pohuwato Regent's office was the result of a demonstration carried out by a group of people on behalf of the Pohuwato People's Consultative Assembly Alliance (MPRP) and the Pohuwato heir Expert Mining Association Alliance. They demanded land relations from PT Pets as a mining company.

In addition to the regent's office that caught fire, other facilities were also damaged, namely the DPRD office, the regent's official residence and the office of the mining company PT Pets. The government has not calculated the total loss of the action.
