Gerindra: Democrats Deklarasikan Official Support To Prabowo Tomorrow

Member of the Gerindra DPP Board of Trustees Andre Rosiade said the Democratic Party would officially announce its support for Prabowo Subianto as a future presidential candidate during a national leadership meeting (Rapimnas) on Thursday (21/9).

"God willing, tomorrow (21/9) as the Regional Secretariat of the Democratic Party will officially announce support for Pak Prabowo," said Gerindra DPP Board member Andre Rosiade in Padang as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 20.

This is a follow-up after previously on Sunday (17/9) a Democratic group led by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono visited Prabowo Subianto's residence in Hambalang, Bogor.

Andre said the supporting and supporting parties Prabowo Subianto or those who are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, namely Gerindra, PAN, Golkar, Gelora Party, PBB, Garuda Party and others will attend the Democratic National Meeting on September 21 which will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center.

"From the information we received, the General Chairperson of the Democrats, Mas AHY, will officially announce his support for Pak Prabowo," said Andre, who is also a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission VI.

By joining the Democrats to the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, this also marks that the political axis built by a number of parties has an equal position.

"Alhamdulillah, our coalition continues to grow and this shows our coalition sitting equally low, and standing equally high," he said.

When asked about the candidate for vice president (cawapres) who will accompany Prabowo, Andre said it would be decided by deliberation with the general chairmen of political parties.

However, he is optimistic that the name or figure of the vice presidential candidate who will accompany Prabowo Subianto has been announced before the General Elections Commission (KPU) opens the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates in 2024.
