Geely Goda Consumers With Galaxy L6, Cheap Plug-in Hybrid Sophisticated Sedan
JAKARTA - Geely, the parent of Volvo, officially released its newest plug-in hybrid sedan, the Galaxy L6, in China on September 16. Galaxy L6 is the second car in the Galaxy series after the L7 SUV.
The Galaxy L6 carries a design inspired by the Galaxy Light design language, which includes interesting features such as separate headlights, through-type rearlights, a closed face design, and a hidden door handle. The vehicle is built on an e-CMA architecture with 72% of the body composition made of high stainless steel. Users can choose between 16-inch rims (205/55 R16) or 17-inch rims (215/55 R17).
As a sedan, the Galaxy L6 has dimensions measuring 4,782mm (long), 1,875mm (wide), 1,489mm (height), with a wheel axis spacing of 2752mm, providing a layout of 5 passengers. The seats on the Galaxy L6 use a combination of imitation skin and comfortable cloth, which Geely juluki plays as a "chair." Each chair has a 15mm thick cushion to sit and 20mm for clothing.
The interior of this vehicle is equipped with a 10.25-inch rectangular instrument panel, a 13.2-inch vertical mid-control screen, and a two-page wheel with a flat bottom. All the Galaxy L6 models are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chips and the Galaxy N OS operating system that allows for the introduction of AI sound and interaction.
High-class models are also equipped with a level 2 driver assistance system that improves driving safety.
Under the engine hood, the Galaxy L6 relies on Geely's NordThor Hybrid 8848 system consisting of 1.5T engines and front electric motors paired with transmission of 3 DHT accelerations. The gasoline engine produces a maximum power of 160 dk and a peak torque of 255 Nm, while the electric motor contributes 143 dk and 338 Nm torque. This vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h within 6.5 seconds with the highest speed reaching 235 km/hour.
For electric mobility, there are two choices of lithium iron phosphate batteries with a capacity of 9.11 kWh and 19.09 kWh, each of which generates a pure electric driving range of 60 km and 125 km (based on CLTC standards). In addition, Geely claims that these batteries can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes via DC fast charging.
