Volkanovski Responds To Sarkasme McGregor's Speech On Twitter, Challenges Former Champion At UFC 300
JAKARTA - UFC fighter Conor McGregor is preparing to return to the octagon to fight Michael Chandler. But in the midst of waiting, he was even challenged to fight in the UFC 300.
McGregor is determined to fight again in the octagon. As preparation, he never missed the MMA fight that aired on television.
The 35-year-old fighter even took the time to stay awake in the early hours of Sunday to witness the surprising defeat of Israel Adesanya to Sean airlifting at UFC 293.
But during the broadcast, McGregor heard commentators call Alexander Volkanovski's status a champion at the pound-for-pound. But for him that's nonsense.
Through his tweet on Twitter, McGregor wrote ridicule at Volkanovski. "Ask your attention that Volkanovski's little sausage is unlikely to be P4P number one. That's ridiculous," McGregor wrote as quoted by The Sun, Tuesday, September 12.
"I like him (Volkanovski) getting this title (P4P) so we have to fight at some stage so that the holders of the Goat FW title will face each other and there will be no more debate," he continued.
It didn't take long for McGregor's tweet to be responded to by Volkanovski. Through his tweet, the 145-pound fighter challenged McGregor back.
"Let's do it at #UFC300 @TheNotoriousMMA," replied Volkanovski.

McGregor has never stepped foot in the octagon since his left leg broke more than two years ago. The incident was experienced by the former two-division champion in a trilogy battle in Las Vegas against Dustin Poirier.
Earlier in February it was stated that McGregor would fight Chandler. The meeting will be broadcast on the final UFC pay-per-view event this year on December 16.
However, McGregor's absence from the United States Anti-Doping Agency's drug testing moment actually made the match postponed.
UFC president Dana White insists the fight is still likely to be held, although it has finally been postponed to 2024 pending announcements.
"Not doing that fight is ridiculous. We're working on it. I hope we can do it early next year," said Dana White.
