OJK Embraces MSMEs And IRT Understanding The Importance Of Financial Inclusion And Literacy
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is said to continue to strengthen financial literacy and inclusion for MSME players and housewives (IRT) in an effort to improve community welfare.
OJK Chief Executive Supervisory, Education and Consumer Protection Friderica Widyasari Dewi said that MSMEs have a very important role in supporting Indonesia's economic growth.
This MSME can absorb many workers in Indonesia. So, MSMEs are extraordinary for Indonesia, their contribution to Indonesia's GDP is around 61 percent (Kemenkop data) and also contributions to exports," he said in a written statement, Tuesday, September 12.
According to Friderica, women and MSMEs are one of the priority targets of financial literacy with a number of programs to support easy access to finance.
"MSMEs are pillars of the Indonesian economy, women play an important role in family success and all start from financial literacy as the foundation of a prosperous family," he said.
Friderica also reminded the importance of vigilance against various illegal online loan offers and fraudulent modes under the guise of investment.
On the same occasion, Deputy Chairman of Commission XI DPR RI Amir Uskara expressed his appreciation to OJK for organizing financial education activities aimed at increasing public understanding of financial products and services.

"It is necessary to continue to provide understanding, especially for MSMEs and IRT to obtain information about appropriate financial products and services so as not to be trapped in illegal online loan offers," he said.
Meanwhile, the OJK socialization is a series of educational activities carried out in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi which was attended by more than 500 participants. Also present were the Head of OJK Regional 6 Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua Darwisman, Director of Literacy and Financial Education at OJK Horas V. M. Tarihoran and Head of the Gowa Regency Education Office, Taufiq Mursad.
