Ganjar Appears On Azan TV Show, Sandiaga Defends Calling It Not Violating Rules

JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) said that the picture of PDIP presidential reading Ganjar Pranowo appearing on the callan broadcast of one of the TV stations was not a violation of the law.

"In my opinion, of course, return to the intention. Innamal a'mal binniyat, all return to the intention. If the intention is for good, let's give ahusnuzan," said the chairman of the National Election Committee for PPP, Sandiaga Uno, Sunday, September 10.

Azan is a call for Muslims to pray. However, the appearance of Ganjar as a model of Azan, one of the TV satsiun, is considered to have a political purpose.

"Reminding people to pray is good and of course it must be in the corridor of law. So please give a response and as long as we have sincere intentions, good intentions for us to pray ma'ruf nahi munkar as fought for by PPP, God willing, we will get blessings," added Sandi.

Sandi added that it was Bawaslu and KPI who were authorized to respond to this. He is sure that the call to prayer that Ganjar modeled did not violate the law.

"Please there are officers who handle it. Bawaslu, for example, provide input, but we from PPP, especially since this invites prayers, so that the zakaran so far is positive, of course, and does not violate the rules, does not violate the legal corridor, of course we respond positively," he concluded.
