Sri Mulyani Brings Good News from G20 India: The Netherlands is Ready to Support Development in ASEAN

JAKARTA – Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani, who accompanied President Joko Widodo at the G20 India Summit, said that the Dutch government expressed its commitment to participate in sustainable development in ASEAN. She conveyed this in a written message from New Delhi today, Sunday, September 10.

"I, together with Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, and Minister of State Secretary Pratikno accompanied President Jokowi to meet with Dutch Prime Minister (PM) Mark Rutte," said the Minister of Finance via the Instagram account @smindrawati.

"Mr President welcomes the contribution of the Netherlands which has now officially become a development partner in ASEAN," she added.

The Minister of Finance explained that the President also hopes that the Netherlands can provide support to Indonesia in developing low-carbon technology.

"We also want to encourage the abolition of the EU Deforestation Regulation, as well as Indonesia's initiative to join as a member of the OECD," she said.

The Minister of Finance added that Indonesia also appreciates the Dutch initiative to build a Center of Excellence in Surakarta. Not only that, the Indonesian government expressed support for the Netherlands in terms of plans to hold a summit related to the fields of new/renewable energy and climate.

"Hopefully this collaboration will create even closer cooperation for both parties. Provide mutual support for the progress of both regions. New Delhi – India, 10 September 2023," concluded Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
