Joint Officers Deployed To Put Out The Mount Walat Sukabumi Fire
SUKABUMI - Joint officers from various elements were again deployed to extinguish the fire in the Gunung Walat forest area in Cibadak District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.
"The fire has re-emerged in the forest area of Mount Walat, precisely in Batununggal Village, which is not far from the residents' land, until now the fire has not been extinguished because of the large number of weeds and dry tree branches so that the fire quickly spreads," said the Operations Control Center Manager (Pusdalops) of the Sukabumi Regency BPBD Daeng Sutisna reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 8.
From observations at the scene, a number of joint officers from BPBD, the Sukabumi Regency Fire and Rescue Service (DPKP) Cibadak Fire Station, TNI personnel, Polri assisted by volunteers and residents extinguished the fire with makeshift tools caused by fire engines unable to reach the location.
This firefighting team extinguished a fire that burned shrubs and tree branches by hitting the fire with tree trunks until it was extinguished, in a simple way, the fire did not continue to spread.
Daeng said officers focused on extinguishing fires close to agricultural land and residential areas, besides that several fire engines were alerted to anticipate the fire from spreading to settlements.
According to him, the Gunung Walat educational forest is always a fire subscription every dry season, usually the fire is due to people clearing land by burning so that it spreads to forest areas.

His party could not confirm the cause of this fire because they were currently focusing on extinguishing the fire, it is suspected that the forest area was affected by more than 10 hectares. Because the fire had not been extinguished until Friday night and the officers were exhausted, the fire extinguishing operation was postponed.
"Joint officers are still on standby at the location of the fire in anticipation of the fire spreading to residential areas. The effort to extinguish the fire was temporarily suspended because officers needed rest plus a lack of lighting at the location worried that something unwanted would happen.
BPBD personnel together with officers involved in the fire fighting operation are currently coordinating to find a solution so that this operation can run effectively so that the fire is quickly extinguished.
