Followed By 2,097 Participants, WJF 2023 Carnival Looks Lively In Bandung
A total of 2,097 participants from all regencies/cities in West Java participated in enlivening the carnival event in the 2023 West Java Festival (WJF) activity series on Sunday, September 3 from the Monument area to Dago to Gedung Sate.
"For this carnival participant, we involve all our friends throughout West Java, a total of 2,097 participants were present," said Head of Culture, West Java Province Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud) Febiyani, quoting Antara.
Febiyani explained that the 2023 carnival took the theme "Insect Of Java," which means philosophical insects that are inseparable from natural ecosystems.
"By understanding and observing insects, we must be able to apply what is positive in everyday life," he said.
All the contingents present at this year's carnival event, he said, also feature the typical culture of their respective regions to be displayed along carnival routes filled with people.

With so many participants present, he hopes that this carnival event can be interpreted by the public so that they do not forget ancestral culture easily.
"Well, it's important for the public to know and know, when they get to know, surely they will be proud of our culture," he said.
Apart from the carnival participants from all regions in West Java, it was also seen that West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil participated in the carnival convoy wearing a yellow capung costume and accompanied by his wife Atalia wearing a butterfly-themed costume.
The carnival event in the WJF this year, began a series of activities from the West Java People's Struggle Monument area, then headed to Jalan Ir H Juanda, Jalan Diponegoro, and ended at Gedung Sate.
