Not Only Factories, The DKI Provincial Government Also Closes The Efforts Of Residents Of Charcoal Burners Polluting In East Jakarta
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has again imposed administrative sanctions on businesses that are proven to be perpetrators of air pollution in the capital city. Not only targeting large industrial factories, this sanction is also imposed on small businesses belonging to residents.
Today, the East Jakarta Environmental Service Sub-dept. temporarily closed the charcoal burning attempt at Lubang Buaya. This is stated in the first warning letter (SP I) dated August 31, 2023 numbered 2888/LH.05.00.
Head of the East Jakarta Administrative City Environment Sub-dept. Eko Gumelar Susanto said that the SP 1 was given directly to business owners. The DKI Provincial Government also ordered that business buildings be demolished
"Through this letter, business owners were given a warning to close business activities, dismantle, move and clean buildings and all of your belongings related to charcoal burning activities at the location within 7\times24 hours of receiving the One Warning Letter (SP I)," said Eko in his statement, Thursday, August 31.
Eko explained that this SP 1 was given after the East Jakarta LH Sub-dept. team conducted inspections and monitoring, it was found that the field facts that this charcoal burning business polluted the environment.
This refers to Article 14 of Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2005 concerning Control of Air Pollution Articles and Article 35 of Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order.
"If within the stipulated period the business owner does not close business activities, dismantle, move and clean the building, as well as all those related to charcoal burning activities, the team will carry out enforcement actions in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations," explained Eko.
Previously, the DKI Provincial Government also imposed sanctions for revocation of the business license of PT Karya Citra Nusantara (KCN) for being proven to have polluted coal dust which was detrimental to the people of Marunda, North Jakarta.

Recently, in the midst of increasingly becoming Jakarta's air pollution, the DKI Provincial Government has again imposed administrative sanctions in the form of temporary closure and government coercion to three companies due to air pollution.
The sanctions are borne by the Concrete batching plant (CBP) company PT Merak Jaya Beton in West Jakarta, as well as two coal warehousing and storage companies (stockpile), namely PT Trada Trans Indonesia and PT Tans Bara Energy.
