Ministry Of Foreign Affairs: China-US Economic Relations Both Benefit Each Other
JAKARTA - Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin conveyed that the visit of the United States Trade Minister Gina Raimondo to the country shows that China and the US economic relations are both mutually beneficial.
"Prime Minister Li Qiang met with Minister Raimondo yesterday. During the meeting, Prime Minister Li Qiang said that the economic and trade relations between China and the US were mutually beneficial and 'win-win' naturally," Wang Wenbin quoted Prime Minister Li Qiang as saying in a statement reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 30.
US Trade Minister Gina Raimondo arrived in China on Sunday (27/8) and held a number of meetings with Chinese officials until finally leaving the country on Wednesday (30/8).
"politicizing economic and trade issues and expanding it to security issues will not only have a serious impact on bilateral relations and mutual trust, but will also weaken the interests of companies and the people of both countries, and will have a negative impact on the global economy," said Wang.
In his statement, Wang quoted PM Li Qiang as saying that China is the largest developing country while the US is the largest developed country, so the two countries must strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, reduce friction and confrontation, and jointly encourage the world's economic recovery and address global challenges.
"PM Li has said China is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with the US in the economic and trade fields, as well as encourage the development of good economic relations and bilateral trade. He hopes the US will cooperate with China in the same direction," Wang added.
China, said to be actively advancing openness and seeking to provide a market-oriented world-class business ecosystem and is governed by a strong legal framework.
"China is also trying to make it easier for market access, treating foreign companies the same way as domestic companies and maintaining and encouraging healthy competition while opening the door wider to the outside world," Wang said.
He also hopes that the US will work hand in hand with China by acting and taking useful actions to maintain and build bilateral relations.
In his explanation, Wang said Minister Raimondo said that the Biden administration supports China's economic development and increased the livelihood of its people.
"Thears have no intention of hindering China's development, not trying to separate itself from China, are willing to maintain normal economic and trade relations and are willing to maintain normal communication and economic and trade relations," Wang said.
