PAPUA - Daily Executive (Plh) of the Papua Regional Secretariat (Sekda) Derek Hegemur revealed that Vice President (Wapres) Ma'ruf Amin will have an office in Papua in early September 2023.
According to him, the vice president's office in Bumi Cenderawasih is in order to coordinate and consolidate in order to accelerate development in Papua.
"BP3OKP (Directorate for the Acceleration of Papuan Special Autonomy Development) is an institution or agency that can coordinate government programs and activities and the community in Papua, so we strongly support the visit," he said in Jayapura, Tuesday, August 22.
Regarding the visit of the Vice President, Derek said the Papua Provincial Government (Pemrov) had coordinated with the XVII Cenderawasih Military Command and the Papua Regional Police regarding security.
The presence of the Vice President in Papua is an agenda of the central government so that the Papua Provincial Government only adjusts. For this reason, Derek also hopes that the presence of the vice president based in Papua can encourage the development of the welfare of the Papuan people.
