Exceeding Expectations, Toyota Books 5,796 SPK At GIIAS 2023 Dominated By LMPV Segment
JAKARTA - Distributors as Toyota Brand Holder Agent (APM), PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), managed to record good achievements during the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).
During the event, at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Toyota has collected 5,796 Vehicle Ordering Letters (SPK), which are dominated by the LMPV segment.
PT TAM vice president, Henry Tanoto, said that the figures achieved by his party could not be separated from the trust of visitors in Toyota vehicles, so this Japanese manufacturer became a major player in the development of the automotive industry in Indonesia.
"Toyota's enthusiasm to present a variety of carbon neutral mobility solutions by bringing the full formation of the Electrified Vehicle (xEV) at GIIAS 2023, turns out the results exceed our expectations and contribute greatly to sales which proves that this vehicle is increasingly known and in demand by the public," Henry said in his statement, Monday, August 21.
In detail, the SPK recorded by Toyota is controlled by two LMPV models, namely Avanza and Veloz who lead sales with a SPK record of 1,213 units or contributing 20.9 percent.
Furthermore, there are other segment models, such as the All New Kijang Innova Zenix which was successfully ordered as many as 823 units or 14.2 percent of the total. Continuing on the two Calya city car models totaling 816 units (donating 14.1 percent) and the All New Agya as many as 648 units (11.2 percent of the total).
The newly launched All New alphard also sold 382 units or accounted for 6.6 percent of the total. Then, followed by All New Yaris Cross Hybrid with 222 units, Toyota bZ4x with a total of 5 units, and RAV4 PHEV GR Sport with 3 units.
Seemenara, Rangga Concept managed to steal the attention of visitors during the event. Toyota noted that 200 consumers expressed interest in becoming the first buyers of the concept.

In the GIIAS 2023 event, Toyota presented more carbon-neutral vehicles, ranging from Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Plugi-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).
Toyota also strengthens its commitment at GIIAS 2023 by presenting alternative technologies in two models, namely the Corolla Cross HEV Flexy Fuel Bioethanol and the environmentally friendly Corolla Cross H2 Concept.
