Gibran Becomes Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate, PDIP Asks The Public Not To Wish
JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDI-P DPP, Puan Maharani, spoke about the issue of Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka or Gibran who is suspected of moving parties so that he can become the vice president of Gerindra Prabowo Subianto.
Puan asked the public not to assume that Gibran was too far away because it could lead to slander.
"We don't have to assume that later it will be slander," said Puan at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Thursday, August 17.
Puan also asked the public to ask Gibran directly regarding the issue. Until now, Gibran is a PDIP cadre who is perpendicular to the decision of the PDIP chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri regarding the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs in the 2024 presidential election.
"Ask Mas Gibran," said Puan.
Previously, Puan Maharani talked about the chance for Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka to run in the 2024 presidential election if the Constitutional Court (MK) granted the judicial review of the age of presidential candidates and vice presidential candidates to a minimum of 35 years.
According to Puan, PDIP can consider Gibran to be the vice presidential candidate for Ganjar Pranowo, if the Constitutional Court grants the judicial review of the presidential and vice presidential age limits.
"We are watching this, yes, if indeed in the Constitutional Court it is approved that there is a vice presidential candidate under 40 years old, yes, Gibran could be advanced," said Puan.
