Seriously! Bima Sakti Still Lacks Players' Materials In Four Positions Ahead Of The 2023 U-17 World Cup
JAKARTA The coach of the Indonesian U-17 National Team, Bima Sakti, revealed the material of the players in his squad for the 2023 U-17 World Cup. He admitted that his team was still incomplete.
The 46-year-old tactician and his coaching team are currently looking for potential players for the event through selection. The latest selection was held at Field A, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
"We are still looking for a striker, then our left back is still looking for it, then the right and left wings too. We are still looking for someone we can take to the training camp (train camp)," he said.
The selection carried out in Jakarta was attended by a total of 50 players. These players were the result of the previous selection conducted in 12 cities.
The selection this time will last until Thursday, August 17.
The coaching team divided all these players into two groups and two training sessions on this first day. The first exercise starts from half past three to 15.30 and continues at 16.00 to 17.30 WIB.
"We practiced several times, the first was passing games first. We saw their basis. Then there was Rondo. Then lastly we made a game 25 minutes x 2," said Bima Sakti.
"Earlier we saw the condition of the players dropping a bit. Therefore, we will evaluate again tomorrow and maybe we can reduce the time," added the former national team player.
Bima said that the time span of the U-17 World Cup, which was so close, made him and the coaching team have to look for players who are really ready.
"The most important thing now is that we give them a chance first. We will try to develop them. Hopefully they can adapt to the existing players," he said.
