Fire At Tanah Abang Goat Market Caused By An Electric Short Circuit
The fire incident at Kambing Market, Jalan Sabeni, Kebon Melati Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, was successfully extinguished by officers on Wednesday, August 9, morning. The fire was extinguished by officers at around 08.00 WIB.
"Currently the fire has been extinguished and is in the cooling process. The situation can be localized, but it still takes time," said Head of the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. (Sudin Gulkarmat), Asril Rizal when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, August 9.
In the process of extinguishing the fire, Gulkarmat officers deployed an additional 18 fire engines at the fire site.
"The object that caught fire was a kiosk at the Kambing Market. The cause of the fire was suspected to be an electrical short circuit," he explained.
Meanwhile, according to Agus, a security officer at the Kambing Market, the fire was caused by the appearance of a fire in one of the Kambing Market stalls. He saw a puff of smoke above one of the kiosks. Agus and his colleagues also tried to extinguish the fire with an APAR but failed because the fire had grown and grabbed it at the kiosk next to him.
"It was extinguished with AN APAR but it couldn't because the fire was already big," he said.

Then the security of the Kambing Market immediately contacted the Fire Department. Meanwhile, other residents immediately reported the incident to the nearest fire department.
"After receiving the report, the firefighters from the Tanah Abang post immediately rushed to the TKP along with other units and the fire could quickly be controlled and localized," he said.
Previously, it was reported that the densely populated residential area on Jalan Sabeni Raya, precisely around the Kambing Market, Kebon Melati Village, Tanah Abang District, was burned to the ground on Wednesday, August 9, morning. The fire was reported to have occurred since 07.05 WIB.
