Ahead Of Chelsea Vs Liverpool, Mauricio Pochettino Focuses On Fixing This Problem
JAKARTA - Chelsea will face Liverpool in the inaugural match of the English Premier League 2023/2024. This match will be presented at Stamford Bridge on August 13.
Ahead of the match, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has a tough task. He is focusing on fixing the mentality of the team that slumped last season.
He said his team was going through the process and it took time to find their identity again. However, he admits, in football, time cannot be wasted.
"You have to do it from now on. We know we are Chelsea and even if young players play against Liverpool, their mentality must be to win," said Pochettino.
"We are preparing ourselves and we know it will be difficult in the first game, then the next game, and the next game. But we have to come up with a good mentality," he added, as quoted by Antara.
Pochettino said all preparations ahead of the match against Jurgen Klopp's team went well. Especially if you look at the results of the pre-season match with three wins and two draws.
The first pre-season match was perfectly played when they beat the team of the fourth division of English football Wrexham AFC with a score of 5-0.
In the next three matches in the Premier League Summer Serries, the Blues won 4-3 over Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United (1-1), and Fulham (2-0). With two wins and one draw, Chelsea won the Premier League Summer Series after collecting seven points.
Then, in the pre-season match they faced Borussia Dortmund and the match closed with a score of 1-1.
