Discord Lays Four Percent Of Employees, The Most Affected Marketing And Entertainment Team
JAKARTA - The Discord chat application has reportedly dismissed 4 percent or about 40 employees. The termination of employment (PHK) is claimed to have an impact on the marketing, design and entertainment team.
This layoff is claimed to be a restructuring effort, in which the company will focus more on long-term growth.
"Discord can confirm that about 4% of our team has been laid off as part of a reorganization of several business units, and we ensure that those affected will be supported," Discrod's spokesperson told Business Insider, quoted by TechCrunch, Friday, August 4.
"We focus on long-term business growth and realize our mission," he added.
In March, Discord announced that it had partnered with OpenAI to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its platform, claiming to be like ChatGPT.
