Not An Audit, DKI Provincial Government Says BPKP Issues JIS Development Attention, This Is Its Contents

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Inspector Syaefuloh Hidayat admitted that he had received attention from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) regarding the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). This is different from the previous statement that BPKP conducted an JIS audit.

"We are working with BPKP from the review planning process and so on. BPKP sees the journey (development), then the attention comes out," Syaefuloh told reporters, Wednesday, August 2.

Syaefuloh said that the attention from BPKP was issued as of July 5, 2023. However, this attention is not only devoted to the construction of JIS, but also other development programs.

At the attention of JIS, BPKP provides recommendations to the DKI Provincial Government to optimize the management and utilization of international-scale stadiums.

"Regarding JIS, BPKP sees this as a strategic project. In order to ensure accountability, they conduct a review and provide attention. The attention is to encourage the DKI Provincial Government to optimize the use of JIS. Of course, we will follow up on this attention," explained Syaefuloh.

Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono some time ago said that the DKI Provincial Government asked BPKP to audit JIS.

However, it turns out that the request has not been submitted to BPKP. In response to this, Heru Budi submitted the proposal process to the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate.

"Yes, later ask the Inspectorate," said Heru at the DKI Jakarta City Hall.

This problem is related to the pressure for the JIS project audit to be raised by the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD after the clarification from Buro Happold, a design, engineering and consulting service company from England.

The reason is that Buro Happold clarified by stating that his party did not design JIS and was not involved in the construction of the stadium that was founded since the Anies Baswedan era.

"Jakarta Konsultindo (Jakkon) asked Buro Happold to make design guidelines (design guidelines) and provide consulting services, from December 2018 to March 2019," wrote Buro Happold's statement, some time ago.

The scope of work includes preparation for the creation of a design guide (preparation of concept design guide), assessment for technical and commercial issues (technical and commercial assessment), concept of master plan for areas around the stadium (concept master plan for the surrounding area), as well as roadmap implementation of the project (implementation roadmap).

"During the time of making the guide, the company ensures that all aspects related to FIFA standards are met," he explained.

Furthermore, after the series of jobs above was completed, Buro Happold was asked to review the design concept prepared by other parties, which in this case was the consultant appointed by Jakkon.

"The company's results of the review identified several aspects that did not match the original design concept guide from Buro Happold. These findings have been submitted by Buro Happold in a separate letter," he explained.
