Heru Budi Sambut Delegation Of Regional Heads Throughout ASEAN, MGMAC And AMF 2023 Officially Held
JAKARTA - Meeting of Governors and Mayors of ASEAN Capitals (MGMAC) and ASEAN Mayors Forum (AMF) 2023 will be held at the Fairmont Hotel, Central Jakarta today.
The delegates from regional heads throughout Southeast Asia and friendly countries began arriving at 08.30 WIB. In front of the meeting room, the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono welcomed the delegation one by one.
A total of 21 delegates from governors and mayors of ASEAN countries attended this event. Also present at the event were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Sekjen ASEAN) Kao Kim Hourn, and others.
The event began with the opening ceremony of the MGMAC and AMF 2022, followed by a regional dance performance. Furthermore, Heru Budi and Kao Kim Hourar read their remarks. Then, the official event was opened by Retno Marsudi after reading his remarks.
The event continued in a plenary session entitled "ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth" with speakers from the Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs Suhajar Diantoro, Director of Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Berlianto Situngkir, and a number of ASEAN delegates. Next, a panel discussion was held to discuss 5 strategic issues.
The MGMAC and AMF 2023 will continue on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. It is scheduled that all delegates will hold closed discussions and sign a joint declaration of the 2023 MGMAC and AMF. Next, the governors and mayors of ASEAN will inaugurate the ASEAN Park and tree planting in PTUL Park, South Jakarta.

For information, the MGMAC and AMF will be attended by more than 500 participants, including the governor and mayor of ASEAN state, representatives of local government associations from ASEAN member countries, ASEAN Community Permanent Representatives, partners. cooperation (partners), and other multilateral agencies.
There are five priority issues that will be discussed, namely inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, resilient cities and climate action, localization of Sustainable development goals, and sustainable mobility.
