Lost Contact Fisherman In Saumlaki Found Selamat
A fisherman in Tanimbar Islands Regency, Maluku, who was reported missing contact while at sea alone around the waters of Astubun Island, was found safe.
"The coordinator of the Saumlaki SAR Post received information that the fisherman named Yustinus Nuntilu (47) had been evacuated by other fishermen after being reported missing contact since Friday," said Head of the Ambon Basarnas Office, Maluku Muhammad Arif Anwar in Ambon as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, July 29.
According to him, Yustinus Nuntilu (47) is known to have gone to sea since Friday, (28/7) at around 17.30 WIT and was reported to have not returned home.
Then the surrounding community tried to make search efforts but to no avail, so it was reported to the Coordinator of the Saumlaki SAR Post.
Rescuers from the Saumlaki SAR Post with the help of potential SAR then carried out SAR operations.
The joint SAR team began searching for victims from 10.50 WIT to the scene using RIB Basarnas to carry out SAR operations with a distance of approximately 4.26 Nm, heading 188.85 degrees south of the Saumlaki SAR Post.

At around 13:00 WIT, information was received that the victim had been found by a fisherman and evacuated him to his hometown.
After confirming that the victim had been found safe, the joint SAR team finally stopped the search operation.
"The victim admitted that his longboat had an engine failure and he decided to stay in a fish chromon not far from Astubun Island until a fisherman passed by and provided help," explained Muhammad Arif.
