Geological Conditions Of Mining Wells In Banyumas That Difficult To Evacuate 8 Miners
BANYUMAS - Chairman of Commission VII DPR Sugeng Suparwoto directly monitored the evacuation efforts of eight gold miners trapped in a mining well, Pancurendang Village, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, since Tuesday (25/7) night.
Sugeng received an explanation from the Head of Operational Subsection and Alert of the Cilacap SAR Office, Priyo Prayuda Utama, regarding geological conditions around the scene.
In addition, Sugeng also monitors the process of extracting water from inside the mining well as an evacuation effort for the eight miners trapped inside.
When giving a press statement, Sugeng admitted that he received information from the SAR Team geologically, the mining well was parallel to the river around him.
Thus, he said, water seeps into the mining well and endangers the miners in it.
In addition, he continued, based on the analysis of the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in the area there were certain faults.
"Whatever the situation, prioritize rescue of victims," said Sugeng as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, July 29.
His party will coordinate with all stakeholders to make the maximum possible efforts so that the victims can be evacuated immediately. In addition, his party will immediately seek sufficient equipment to support evacuation efforts.
Regarding the rampant illegal mining practices in Banyumas, Sugeng Suparwoto said all mining activities must have permits as regulated in the Mineral and Coal Mining Act (Minerba).

In this case, he said, people's mining activities must obtain certain licensing and analysis, including an analysis of environmental impacts (amdals).
"Moreover, this is people's mining, there should be a permit because it involves environmental security," said Sugeng.
Eight miners have reportedly been trapped in an illegal gold well, Pancurendang Village, Ajibarang District, Banyumas, since Tuesday (25/7), at 23.00 WIB, because suddenly water came inundating the mining area.
The eight trapped miners consisted of Cecep Suriyana (29), Rama Abd Rohman (38), Ajat (29), Mad Kholis (32), Marmumin (32), Muhidin (44), Jumadi (33), and Mulyadi (40) and all of them came from Bogor Regency, West Java.
