Heru Budi Admits Regent's Proposal Regarding PIK Entering The Thousand Islands Is Difficult To Realize

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono now admits that reclamation island areas in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) are part of the Thousand Islands Administrative District are difficult to realize. The transfer of the administration of the PIK reclamation island area into the Thousand Islands was proposed by the Regent of the Thousand Islands, Junaedi. Although he had responded to the proposal to review, Heru said it could not necessarily be realized."That's just yesterday's talk and the regent's petition. I didn't propose that. Right, it's not that easy. It's the reality that's comfortable like today, yes, it's just today," said Heru at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, July 28.The reclamation areas that Junaedi asked to enter the Thousand Islands are Pulau C, D, G, and N. Where, there are three beaches that become tourist destinations on the three islands, namely Pantai Kita, Pantai Maju, and Pantai Bersama.“So, what we propose is four reclamation islands located on the north coast. It is located in the PIK 1, namely Pulau C, D, G and N. Currently, the four reclamation islands are included in the administrative area of North Jakarta,” Junaedi said in his statement, Wednesday, July 26.The four reclamation islands are located on the north coast which is classified as the B8 zone in Presidential Decree Number 60 of 2020 concerning Urban Spatial Planning for Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Puncak and Cianjur. The reason Junaedi proposed that the four reclamation islands of the PKI enter the Thousand Islands is to unravel social and democratic inequalities, equalize inter-regional development in DKI Jakarta Province, open up business and investment opportunities, and open up the widest possible employment opportunities for the people of the Thousand Islands.Junaedi said the construction in the Thousand Islands after 21 years of officially separating from North Jakarta had been able to meet the basic needs aspect. However, development is not significant enough even though it has been designated as KSPN.Therefore, the proposal for PIK to become part of the Thousand Islands is also considered to strengthen the image of the Thousand Islands tourism and have a psychological impact on local residents to be motivated to develop their territory.
"We must develop the concept of tourism so that the Thousand Islands, which has been designated as KSPN, must have a concept like Bali. It's possible for Bali, the Thousand Islands should also be able to," said Junaedi.
