Fighting In Welter Class, Errol Spencer Difficulty Getting Ideal Weight
JAKARTA - Errol Specer will have a fight against WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford. Taking place at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, United States, this match will be held on Saturday 29 July or Sunday, 30 July WIB.
Will appear in the welterweight, Errol admitted that he was overwhelmed to get an ideal weight in that class, namely 147 pounds (66,678 kg). Because if more than that, then the boxer should compete in the super or junior welterweight which has a weight limit of 154 pounds (69,853 kg).
"I'll want it in 154 pounds (super shoter class). I've surpassed 147 (welterweight)," Spence Jr was quoted as saying by Boxing Scene, Thursday, July 27.
Spence Jr and Crawford have rematch clauses in their fight contracts. However, Spence Jr is not sure if he can put his body through a tiring process to slow down to the welterweight again.
If the fight remains in the welterweight, then Spencer will have to go on a strict diet to get to the weight of the class's ideal body.

However, the weight limit for the rematch between Spencer jr and Crawford will be determined by the winner. So Spence Jr could be forced to fight in the welterweight again if in the first meeting the fight was won by Crawford, whose weight was lighter.
This (achieving the welterweight standard) is quite difficult. But I have nutritionists and dietists to make sure I eat the right food and make sure I'm okay. But it's obviously difficult. It's really a struggle," said the 33-year-old boxer.
"It's always difficult, but yes, this is the last time, of course. I'm much older. I'm not that young, so you can't force your body to fight that much," he continued.
Errol Spencer, who has a height of 177 cm, has always been below 147 pounds in his last 10 fights, and 7 of them have been world titles.
On the other hand, Crawford, who is 173 cm tall, will compete in the welterweight for the eighth time when he faces Errol Spence Jr.
Interestingly, since moving up to the welterweight to win the WBO title from Jeff Horn in June 2018, the former undisputed junior welterweight world champion managed to finish his fight with a KO/TKO victory.
