JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan emphasized that the government continues to strive to regulate the price of basic necessities to be stable, one of which is by providing subsidies.
According to him, if the price of basic commodities is too expensive, local governments can provide subsidies.
The Trade Minister while monitoring Pananjung Market, Pangandaran Regency, West Java, Thursday, July 20, said that if the price is expensive, the regent can help provide transportation subsidies that can be taken from unexpected budget funds.
According to Zulkifli, the Government regulates that the prices of basic commodities are stable, not more expensive or cheap. For example, for chicken meat commodities, the Government strives to make the price reach Rp. 38,000-39,000 per kilogram or not reach Rp. 40,000 per kilogram.
