Ports in East Kalimantan Load Exports Worth 14.55 Billion US Dollars in Semester I 2023
JAKARTA - A number of sea and river ports in East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) in the January - June 2023 Period loaded various oil and gas and non-oil and gas commodities to be exported to a number of destination countries with a value of USD 14.55 billion.
"Countries of destination for such large exports include China, Malaysia, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Croatia, India and South Korea," said Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for East Kalimantan Province Yusniar Juliana in Samarinda, quoted from Antara, Thursday 20 July.
Oil and gas commodities that are exported are oil and gas products, while non-oil and gas commodities include mineral fuels, animal or vegetable fats and oils, various chemical products, and organic chemicals.
The ports in East Kalimantan that carry export goods worth 14.55 billion dollars include Samarinda Port in Samarinda, Semayang Port in Balikpapan, Tanjung Bara in East Kutai Regency, and Adang Bay Port in Paser Regency.
The export value from a number of ports in East Kalimantan, amounting to 14.55 billion, has decreased compared to the January-June 2022 period which was valued at 15.99 billion dollars.
The details are commodities loaded from the Port of Samarinda for the January-June 2023 period of 4.34 billion dollars, an increase of 4.29 billion dollars compared to the same period in 2022.
Then the commodities loaded at the Port of Balikpapan amounted to 3.33 billion US dollars, a slight decrease compared to the same period the previous year which was valued at 3.5 billion dollars.

The Port of Tanjung Bara loaded export commodities worth 2.32 billion dollars, experiencing a slight decrease compared to the same period in 2022 which was recorded at 2.35 billion US dollars.
followed by exports of commodities loaded through the Port of Muara Berau in Berau Regency with a value of 928.87 million dollars. Commodities exported from this port have never happened before.
"Then the export commodities loaded through the Port of Adang Bay for the period January - June 2023 amounted to 1 billion dollars, experiencing a slight decrease compared to the same period the previous year which was recorded at 1.16 billion US dollars," said Yusniar.
