Aceh Customs And Excise Failed To Smuggle 99 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine From Malaysia
The Regional Office Team of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise in Aceh together with other law enforcement officers thwarted the smuggling of methamphetamine-type drugs weighing up to 99 kilograms in Pidie Regency, Aceh Province.
Head of the Customs Facility Division of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of Aceh Province, Leni Rahmasari, said the attempt to thwart the smuggling of prohibited goods was a synergy with various parties.
"From the smuggling action, officers arrested three suspected perpetrators. Of the three, 99 kilograms of methamphetamine were also secured in four sacks," said Leni, Wednesday, July 19.
Leni Rahmasari said the failure to smuggle prohibited goods originated from public information. In the information, it was stated that drugs from Malaysia to Aceh Province were taken by fishing boat.
From this information, a team of operations was formed involving the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) Aceh, the Directorate of Narcotics Irtediction DJBC, the BC30005 Marine Patrol Task Force, the BC15022 Marine Patrol Task Force and the BNN RI and BNNP Aceh.
"The team is divided into two, sea and land. Finally, the marine patrol task force arrested three suspected perpetrators along with the means of transportation. The three suspected perpetrators had the initials HE, MF, and R. They were arrested on Monday," said Leni Rahmasari.
Based on the results of the examination of the three, the drugs were successfully smuggled and stored in a garden around a mosque in Pidie Regency, Aceh Province. From the perpetrator's statement, the joint team found four sacks containing 99 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
"The young generation that was rescued from the smuggling failure reached 495 thousand people, assuming one gram of crystal methamphetamine is used by five people per day," he said.

Leni said the Aceh DJBC Regional Office continues to protect the public from smuggling dangerous goods such as narcotics, illegal drugs and others.
"The DJBC Aceh Regional Office along with other law enforcement officers from January to June 2023, thwarted the smuggling of methamphetamine weighing up to 853 kilograms. We also invite an active role in fighting and eradicating drugs," he said.
