This Is Dr. Dre's Opinion On Modern Hip-hop
JAKARTA - Dr. Dre said he didn't like "most of" modern hip-hops, but he would "never hate" artists of today's era.
While appearing on Kevin Hart's show, Hart to Hart, the rapper and producer explained that although hip-hop's current state is not his favorite, the genre is developing.
"Anyone who talks about hip hop situation now, when talking about it from a negative place, sounds like someone's grandfather," said Dre, quoted by NME, Wednesday.
Genre is what it is. Hip-hop is evolving. If you don't like it, don't listen, you know what I'm saying? I don't listen much to that nonsense. But I don't hate it. I'll never hate it," he continued.
Dre then praisedking Lamar after the Pulitzer award-winning artist was named by Hart.
"Kendrick Lamar is a true artist, like, the real definition of that word," said the rapper.
