Landslides Hit A House In Lumajang, East Java, 3 People Died
JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that three residents died due to landslides that occurred in Sriti Hamlet, Sumberurip Village, Pronojiwo District, Lumajang, East Java.
Through the report of the Head of BPBD Lumajang Patria Dwi Hastiadi, the three victims were found dead after their houses were buried by landslides in the kitchen and bedroom.
"Dini hari tadi sekitar pukul 04.00 WIB kami berhasil mengevakuasi tiga korban meninggal dunia, yang merupakan satu keluarga," kata Patria, dikutip ANTARA, Jumat 7 Juli.
The landslide incident on Friday morning was triggered by high-intensity rain which caused landslides at several points, including landslides at KM 59 of the Lumajang - Malang Zero Piket Line.
Visual monitoring in the field, he said, estimates the landslide length is about 20 meters with a height of 10 meters. In addition, landslides also occurred at the road access to Ranupani.
Until now, the joint team has deployed heavy equipment to carry out a completely closed road opening. However, the weather conditions at the scene have not allowed it to continue emergency handling efforts.
This is because several subsequent landslides are still happening, so the location of the KM 59 Jalan Piket Nol Lumajang - Malang road access is still completely closed.
