BALI - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) noted that vehicles passing on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) managed by Hutama Karya from June 28 to July 2 reached a total of 328,282 vehicles. This number increased by 20 percent compared to normal traffic volume.
Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said, under normal conditions, the volume of traffic in JTTS only reached around 273,305 vehicles.
This figure is an accumulation of the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung Toll Road, Palembang-Indralaya Toll Road, Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Toll Road, Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road, Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road, Binjai-Langsa Toll Road, & Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 2-6.
"Last weekend, we evaluated that many road users have packed the toll road since D-2 or on June 28," said Tjahjo in a written statement, quoted Wednesday, July 5.
Tjahjo said, during the joint holidays, traffic conditions were smooth and controlled and no significant traffic disturbances were found.
The toll roads that experienced the highest increase in traffic were the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road which was crossed by 34,498 or an increase of about 53 percent compared to normal traffic.
"To anticipate densities, we are adding mobile reader & top-up hawkers to facilitate traffic flow and add shock markings, flashing lights, carry out microsleep operations at accident-prone hours and advice on safety and information on nearby rest area locations to anticipate accidents and fatalities," he said.

In addition, Hutama Karya has also operated without the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Rate Section 5 & 6 (Bang Bintang-Baitussalam) with quite good traffic, of which from June 21 to July 3 10,781 vehicles have been passed.
"With the operation of this section, it will further increase the mobility of people who will pass from Seulimeum to Baitussalam, including access to Malahayati Port in Baitussalam, Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport in Blang Bintang and Education Center in Kuta Baro," he added.
For the current condition of the toll road, Hutama Karya appealed to all road users to always comply with the provisions and rules that apply on toll roads, and ensure the adequacy of EU balances before entering toll gates.
If the road user forgets to fill in the Electronic Money Card (EU) balance, he can use the HK Toll Apps application owned by Hutama Karya, which has the UE Check Balance feature and can also top up the EU balance.
