80 Percent Of People Believe Johnny G Plate Involved In BTS Kominfo Corruption
JAKARTA - Regarding the alleged corruption case in the provision of Base Tranceiver Station (BTS) infrastructure by the inactive Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G Plate which is being handled by the Attorney General's Office, the findings of the Indicators show that the public believes Johnny has committed corruption.
"Those who know about the case (the alleged corruption involving Johnny G Plate), 80 percent believe that the former Minister of Communication and Information is committing corruption," said Burhanuddin.
On the other hand, in Burhanuddin's notes, half of the people familiar with the case considered that the issue was purely a legal issue (50.4 percent) rather than a more politically charged issue (36.3 percent).
This result is known by Indicators after conducting a survey in the range of 20-24 June 2023, placing 1,220 respondents from all provinces. Respondents are determined assuming a simple random sampling method, with a confidence level of 95 percent and a margin of error of 2.9 percent.
The results of a survey by Indonesian Political Indicators showed that the majority of respondents asked the Prosecutor's Office to investigate, investigate, and demand that corruption not be reduced.
"Essentially, the public turned out to be 66.4 percent asking the Prosecutor's Office to continue to have the authority to investigate, investigate, and demand corruption," said Indonesian Political Indicator Burhanuddin Muhtadi when presenting the results of a survey entitled Public Evaluation of the Performance of Law Enforcement and Taxation Institutions' virtually, monitored from Jakarta, Sunday.
As is known, the authority to investigate, investigate, and demand corruption has made the Prosecutor's Office succeed in uncovering various major cases. For example, the ASABRI and Jiwasraya corruption mega-skandal which was successfully dismantled by the Prosecutor's Office.
Under the command of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia ST Burhanuddin, the Prosecutor's Office also succeeded in uncovering the practice of the cooking oil mafia which made it difficult for the majority of people in Indonesia. The findings of the indicators also strengthen this.
"Overall (all) the public does not want the authorities or power of the Prosecutor's Office to be removed in the corruption case," said Burhanuddin.

Based on previous reports, advocate Yasin Djamaludin asked the Constitutional Court to state Article 44 paragraph (4) and paragraph (5), specifically the phrase or the Prosecutor's Office', Article 50 paragraph (1), paragraph (2), and paragraph (3) specifically the phrase or the Prosecutor's Office', and Article 50 paragraph (4) specifically the phrase and/or the Prosecutor's Office' Law Number 30 of 2002 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission contradicts the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
