This Is The Reason For Tohpati Collaboration With Czech Symphony Orchestra For God Bless's New Album
JAKARTA - Tohpati was appointed as producer in the production of God Bless' latest album, Anthology 50th Anniversary. Not only that, the guitarist with the full name Tohpati Ario Hutomo also wrote all the scoring played by Czech Symphony Orchestra.
Tohpati's choice to work with Czech Symphony Orchestra was not without reason, he wanted to present something different, considering that what he was doing was an album to commemorate God Bless' golden age as an Indonesian rock legend.
"God Bless may have played with all the orchestras in Indonesia. To celebrate this 50th anniversary, I think I have to give something special, so I chose Czech Symphony Orchestra," said Tohpati during a press conference at Bentara Budaya Jakarta, Wednesday, June 21.
Furthermore, Tohpati feels more comfortable with the quality offered by Czech Symphony Orchestra. In addition to recording equipment and studios that have superior quality, their skills and way of working are also much more efficient.
"If there are recording tools and studios are much better. But what I like the most, they are on time," said Tohpati.
The footage for the orchestra was just a day. I worked on the partur, then I sent it there and they recorded it. After a day, I got the file and just mixed it," he continued.
Tohpati also admitted that the recording process with God Bless was very fun. Although he had doubts about his ability to face the big names of the personnel, Tohpati admitted that he did not encounter any difficulties when directing Achmad Albar Cs. In the recording studio.
When I gave input to Mas Iyek, he was very open to accepting. Mas Ian (Antono) also never refused if I asked for something. Until I waited when I gave an unpleasant arrangement," said Tohpati jokingly.

Regarding the arrangement made for 11 songs on the album Anthology, Tohpati said he did not want to change the total melody, chord progression to the shape of the song. He assessed that God Bless' hit songs already have their own characters, especially in the ears of listeners.
"If God Bless's song is already standard, yes. So, it seems a bit scary if it is changed a lot. It feels like a sin if I make something too much different," said Tohpati.
The most requested part of the Koda was made magnificent. So, for the concert later, the appearance and music can be more memorable for the audience," he concluded.
