SAR Team Finds Engine Dead Fishing Boat In The Middle Of The Sea Of Siau Tagulandang, North Sulawesi

The joint SAR team evacuated a fisherman from Likupang, North Minahasa Regency whose boat experienced engine failure while at sea and was stranded on the coast of Career Beach, Karungo Village, Biaro Island, Siau Islands Regency, Tagulandang, North Sulawesi.

"During the engine failure, the victim Helwik Bawoka from Sonsilo Village, West Likupang continued to try to row and seek help, and finally arrived at Career Beach," said Head of Basarnas Manado, Monce Brury, in Manado, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 21.

"When we received the information, we continued to carry out SAR Operations by using the KN Bima Sena ship considering the location of the search is very far away," he said.

Helwik Bawokame Laut fished, on Tuesday (20/6) 2 around Bangka Island, but Wednesday (21/6) around 01.00 WITA the victim told his wife that the boat had an engine failure. The victim's boat then drifted towards Biaro Island.

During the search, the joint Basarnas team, Bakamla, local fishermen and the victim's family, had felt lost track because the victim's cellphone died.

Then information was obtained, the victim was stranded in Tanjung Karungo, precisely on the coast of Career Beach, Karungo Village, Biaro Island. The victim asked for help from local residents to provide information to the families of the survivors and asked to be evacuated.

The victim was then evacuated by the SAR Team and handed over to his family.
