Regarding The Leaked Document Of Investigation Of The ESDM Case At The KPK, Novel Baswedan: Serious Crime

JAKARTA - Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Novel Baswedan said the leak of the investigation document on alleged corruption at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources was a serious crime.

This was conveyed by Novel in response to the Polda Metro Jaya which is now investigating allegations of leaking KPK investigation documents. He said, many bad things could happen because of the incident.

"The act of leaking the investigation data or documents is very dangerous because apart from being able to thwart the investigation process, it is also very dangerous for investigators on duty in the field," Novel said in a written statement, Wednesday, June 21.

Novel said that many parties had reported this allegation and their status had been investigated by the Polda Metro Jaya. So, the perpetrators must be thoroughly investigated.

"This is a serious crime, just because of the motivation of money and then committing acts of betrayal. Especially if it is true that the perpetrator is the KPK leader," he said.

Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto stated that he had found the criminal investigation behind the investigation into the alleged leak of investigation documents at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Meanwhile, in this case Polda Metro Jaya received more than 10 police reports (LP). In that case, it is said that the name of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri was dragged.

"Yes, indeed, after the initial examination, several parties were clarified, we have indeed found a criminal incident," Karyoto told reporters, Tuesday, June 20.

The criminal element found was the leaking of the KPK investigation process related to allegations of corruption at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. This is because the parties who are the targets of the investigation already know the legal steps being taken by the anti-corruption agency.
