Meet Heru Budi, DKI KPU Admits It Needs A Logistics Warehouse For The 2024 Election An Area Of 8 Thousand Square Meters
Chairman of the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) Wahyu Dinata and his staff met with the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono to discuss the technical implementation of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).
To Heru, Wahyu admitted that his party did not yet have a place to store election logistics, be it the voting committee documents, ballots, ballot boxes, and other facilities.
"That's one of the homeworks that we will talk about again. At least we need 8 thousand square meters. That could be one place or it could be accommodated in several places in districts/cities," Wahyu said when met at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, June 19.
Wahyu said that the warehouse covering an area of 8 thousand square meters was needed to accommodate election logistics, starting from the presidential and vice presidential elections (pilpres), as well as candidates for members of the DKI DPR-DPD-DPRD (pileg) which will be held on February 14, 2024.
Then, the warehouse will again hold the logistics for the DKI regional head election (pilkada) which will be held on November 27, 2024.
"The point is that we really need the warehouse because there is a logistics transition between the election (pilpres and legislative elections) and regional head elections," he said.

In the 2019 election, the DKI KPU received a loan using a sports arena (GOR) belonging to the DKI Provincial Government to store electoral logistics. However, the need for storage areas this year is even greater because elections are held simultaneously.
"We will continue to use the GOR as well. So, the residue (resid of the presidential and legislative elections) will be shifted first, then entered the logistics stage for the regional elections. Well, this is what we will accommodate," Wahyu explained.
In today's meeting, the DKI Provincial Government has prepared location options that can later be used by the KPU to store logistics for the 2024 General Election.
"From Kesbang (The National Unity and Political Agency of DKI Jakarta) has provided input. In each district/city there is an asset building belonging to the regional government that can be maximized for the warehouse," he added.
