PPP Wait For Sandiaga's Hockey Effect To Boost Votes In The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - Acting Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhamad Mardiono admitted that he was waiting for Sandiaga Uno's " hockey effect" to boost votes in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

"If I bring it from my language, that's probably what we've been waiting for for the hockey effect, because Mr. Sandi has a hockey effect for my language," said Mardiono as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 14.

He did not deny that political parties (political parties) were indeed working to pursue detectors. This is the hope of the PPP by joining the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy to his party.

According to him, Sandiaga is a figure who has always been successful in every career, both as an entrepreneur and a politician.

Mardiono said that one of Sandiaga's political careers that was brilliant was when he won the 2017 DKI Jakarta Pilkada. At that time Sandiaga Uno was the candidate pair for deputy governor from Anies Baswedan.

"Success and hockey are certainly hopes for PPP to be a strengthening of PPP," he explained.

Not only that, continued Mardiono, Sandiaga managed to gain a lot of votes during the 2019 presidential election by accompanying Prabowo Subianto's presidential candidate.

"Well, from all of Mr. Sandi's track record, then if it's my language, of course, PPP hopes that hockey will also be brought to Pak Sandi's success together with PPP," said Mardiono.

He targets PPP to get around 11 to 12 million votes nationally. Then, PPP targets to have 45 to 50 seats in the DPR.

"I am sure that with Pak Sandi's additional energy, God willing, it will be even easier, because in the last election years starting in 2009 and 2014, we have achieved the achievement of seats as targeted now," he said.
