Ministry Of Home Affairs Ready To Follow Up Bawaslu Reports If ASN Are Not Neutral In The 2024 Election
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) appealed to political parties aka political parties not to involve the state civil apparatus (ASN) in winning the 2024 General Election.
This was said by the Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Suhajar Diantoro, when he was a resource person in the Webinar of the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN) entitled 'The Camat and Lurah Dilemma: Between Professionalism and Politics in 2024' today, Wednesday 14 June.
"Give an appeal to political parties, politicians, and regional heads not to involve ASN," he said.
He added that the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) also needed to tighten supervision of ASN. Then, report if there are ASNs suspected of violating neutrality in the 2024 General Election to KASN and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Thus, he said, KASN and the Ministry of Home Affairs could follow up on the report and ensure that sanctions were imposed on ASN who were proven to have violated.
On the same occasion, the Chairman of KASN Agus Pramusinto said that in the implementation of the election, the election participants would indeed try to expand the niche of public support in order to get voters, including voters from the ASN group so that they could win the election contestation.
Agus conveyed that such efforts were carried out massively by election participants through political party structure actors, successful teams, and volunteers using various media.

He conveyed that compared to other ASN groups, ASNs who hold positions in regional line elements, namely the village head and sub-district head have a special appeal in the eyes of candidates or candidates for election and election participants.
At least, there are two reasons why the village head and sub-district head have special attractions. First, a village head and sub-district head have direct access to residents in carrying out their daily duties. The better their image in the eyes of the residents, the greater the influence on mobilizing support for certain parties," he explained.
Second, continued Agus, the authority and field of village and sub-district heads who are cross-sectoral in their administrative areas, such as licensing, distributing social assistance, as well as fostering community organizations so that they have the potential to become voters in elections and elections.
Thus, according to Agus, the professionalism of ASN, especially village heads and sub-district heads, is expensive in the 2024 General Election.
