About To Escape To Batam, Pekanbaru Airport Officers Arrest TIP Perpetrators
PEKANBARU - The Joint Team of the Criminal Investigation Unit, Protocol and AVSEC of Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport (SSK) Pekanbaru arrested H, the perpetrator of the Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport, Pekanbaru, who planned to flee to Batam.
"This perpetrator is the result of the development of two TIP perpetrators in Bengkalis, related to the 28 prospective Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who they will sell abroad," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bengkalis Police, AKP Muhammad Reza, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 8.
According to Muhammad Reza, previously officers managed to secure 28 prospective Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) along with two TIP perpetrators who sold them and the police developed other networks.
From this development, said Muhammad Reza, they received information and based on analysis in the field they got one perpetrator with the initials H.
"After receiving this information, Reza and his team immediately went to Pekanbaru. In Pekanbaru, the police received information that perpetrator H would go to Batam, Riau Islands Province via Pekanbaru SSK II Airport on Wednesday," he said.
He revealed that the team immediately coordinated with the protocol and AVSEC of SSK II Airport to intercept the perpetrators and then the perpetrator H was secured by the Joint Criminal Investigation Unit Team, Protocol and AVSEC of SSK II Airport when the person concerned was going to check in.

Based on the interrogation, perpetrator H admitted that he played a role in managing and coordinating nine people from 28 PMIs who had been previously secured by the Bengkalis Police.
"The evidence confiscated from the perpetrator is in the form of a cellphone and the perpetrator and evidence are currently at the Bengkalis Police Station to undergo further legal proceedings," said Reza.
