Electric Substation Explosion In Tambora, 9 Residents' Houses Burned
Residents on Jalan Jembatan Besi, Tambora, West Jakarta panicked when they saw the flames set fire to a number of houses, Tuesday afternoon, June 6, at around 10:00 WIB. Head of the Operations Section of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Syarifudin, said the source of the fire came from an explosion of an electric substation.
"The trigger was sparks from an explosion of an electric substation near a resident's house," he said. He said the blackout operation began at 10.12 WIB and was completed at 11.38 WIB. Syarifudin said, at least 9 houses were affected by the fire. And his party deployed 19 units of fire operations and 95 personnel.
"There were no casualties in this fire," he explained.
He added that the fire occurred on an area of 150 m2 with an estimated loss of around Rp. 650 million.
Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Iron Bridge, Rizky Denni Ananda, said that there were 17 families with 52 people affected by the fire.

"The nine buildings that burned were building the second floor. Some were permanent and some were semi-permanent," said Rizky.
He continued, his party had coordinated with related parties for the accommodation of victims affected by the fire.
"We have coordinated with the West Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the West Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept. to provide refugee tents and food as well as other necessities for victims affected by the fire," he explained.
