Closed Formula E 2023, Bamsoet Calls Indonesia Successfully Holds International Championships
JAKARTA - Chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo appreciated the hard work of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI), Jakpro and HIPMI which made the 11th Formula E race series run successfully.
This was said by Bamsoet, who was Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party and General Chairperson of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI), handed over the trophy to the winners of the 2023 Formula E (GulaVit Jakarta Eprix 2023) race on the second day of the 11th series, Sunday, June 4.
The 1st place was won by Maximilian Gunther, followed by Jake Dennis, and Mitch Evans. Meanwhile, the Team Winner was won by Maserati MSG Racing Team.
He said, held for two consecutive days, did not dampen the enthusiasm of the audience to continue to come directly to the AGI Jakarta International Eprix Circuit arena or to the Ancol area to watch racing through various screens prepared around the Ancol area.
"More than 160 thousand spectators packed the Ancol area today. It proves the high enthusiasm of the Indonesian people in watching the race," he explained.
This, he continued, also proves that Indonesia is one of the great countries that has successfully organized various world racing championships.
"From Formula E, MotoGP, Superbike, to Asia Pacific Rally Championship, it has been successfully held in Indonesia," said Bamsoet
Bamsoet assessed that the success of the two days of the implementation of Formula E in Jakarta has made Jakarta again trusted to hold Formula E in 2024. The plan is to be held on June 8, 2023. The exploration of contract extensions until 2030 will be carried out with Formula E Operation, at a more competitive price.
"Given that Indonesia has many advantages and has been proven to be able to organize Formula E in a good and quality manner," explained Bamsoet.

He said, consistency in the implementation of Formula E is also very important to strengthen Indonesia's position in the G-20. In 2023 alone, out of 16 Formula E series, 15 series were carried out in the G-20 country. The remaining 1 series was held at Monaco on May 6.
"In addition to Indonesia, the G-20 countries that host Formula E 2023 include Mexico, which held Formula E on January 14, Saudi Arabia on January 27 and 28, India on February 11, South Africa on February 25, Brazil on March 25, Germany on April 22 and 23, the United States on June 24, Italy on July 15 and 16, and the UK on July 29 and 30," concluded Bamsoet.
