The Governor Of South Sumatra Asks For Abandonment Of Patients In Muratara To Be Completely Investigated
South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru asked for the alleged neglect of childbirth patients at the Puskesmas, North Musi Rawas Regency until they died to be thoroughly investigated so as not to cause polemics to the community.
"We have formed a special team chaired directly by the Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office to support the investigation efforts," said Herman Deru after receiving a visit from the Regent of North Musi Rawas Regency, Devi Suhartoni, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 31.
According to Deru, the special team will conduct an investigation to examine health workers at the Puskesmas and ask for information from the victim's family for the next week in North Musi Rawas.
"They work comprehensively so that the problem of serving health workers in North Musi Rawas is clear," he said.
He stated that if the results of the investigation were found to be elements of neglect or negligence by health workers, strict action must be taken.
Nevertheless, he appealed to the public, especially the family, to continue to prioritize a positive attitude towards the incident until the results of the investigation were clearly announced later by the local government.
Based on a report from the Health Office of North Musi Rawas Regency, the incident occurred at the Pauh Health Center on May 9, 2023.
At that time, the Bidan of the Pauh Health Center served treatment for a high-risk pregnant woman who was about to give birth named Tika.
However, the family suspects that the Pauh Health Center Midwives did not provide the best service and had neglected patients who needed treatment until they finally died.
Tika's patient died shortly after being referred to AR Lubuk Linggau hospital on May 10, 2023 at around 05.00 WIB.
