Porsche Optimistic To Present EVs With A Range Of 1300 Km And A Sufficient Charging Time Of 15 Minutes
JAKARTA - One of the main drawbacks of electric cars today is that the distance is limited while for which the charging distance is quite long because the battery capacity is also large. However, Porsche claims to have solved this problem by developing a new technology that allows their electric cars to reach up to 1300 km and the time for charging batteries only takes 15 minutes.

At the same time, Porsche is also developing a very fast charging technology that allows their electric cars to be fully charged in just 15 minutes.
Since 2021, Porsche has made massive investments in the development of electric car batteries partnering with Customcells with the launch of high-performance battery cell production at the Weissach Development Center.
In the near future the two newest electric cars Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo and Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo will also be launched soon.
These two cars will be powered by a new technology Porsche developed to provide a different and impressive driving experience for electric car enthusiasts. The two new electric cars are expected to make Porsche a serious competitor to other electric car manufacturers and overhaul the automotive industry.
Previously, Dr. Falko Schappacher, Commercial and Engineering Director of the MET Battery Research Center at Munster University, said that silicon anodes could increase battery capacity tenfold and allow less than 15 minutes of charging time. But that's a problem, silicon can expand up to 300% when absorbing lithium, so it can damage the electrodes and reduce battery life or life.
Dr. Stefanie Edelberg, the Battery Cell Specialist Engineer at Porsche Engineering, in Porsche media space, said a major breakthrough had been found with a solid-state battery. By using a dense electrolyte matrix as a substitute for liquid electrolytes placed in the separator, the resulting batteries not only become lighter but also more compact. And lack of fluids will make them more stable and minimize the danger of fire.
The technology will reportedly increase energy density by up to 50% and produce much faster charging times.
