The excellent supervision of collaboration between Avsec and TNI/Polri officers is the key to the successful smuggling of prohibited objects, especially drugs through the cargo of the delivery of goods at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang, South Sumatra.
The statement was made by the Commander of the Palembang Vocational High School Air Base Colonel Pnb Sigit Gatot Prasetyo as part of the security authority for Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport, to reporters in Palembang, Saturday.
According to Sigit, the prime of the surveillance collaboration was tested after the security authorities again thwarted efforts to smuggle marijuana-type drugs at the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport cargo terminal.
"Yes, in the midst of the congestion and busy delivery of cargo from the Airport Avtec officers, they remained careful and deft, reported the findings and it was revealed that the contents were marijuana," he said.
According to him, the marijuana was about to be sent through a provider of goods delivery services in Palembang City and aimed at Lombok City, West Nusa Tenggara.
"Then next, the findings will be further processed by personnel from the South Sumatra Regional Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate, with the hope that in the near future the owner will be caught," he added.
