Ganjar Pranowo Checks Readiness Of The Development Of The Ngembik Magelang Bridge
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo reviewed the readiness to build the Ngembik suspension bridge that connects the Magelang City area with Magelang Regency into a permanent bridge.
Ganjar said the construction of the bridge over the Progo River would cost around Rp48 billion.
"The construction of this bridge will later have a contribution from the Magelang City Government, there is a contribution from Magelang Regency, the province that built the lower construction and the upper construction center," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 8.
He hopes that with the construction of the bridge becoming permanent, transportation will be better, now it can only be passed by pedestrians and motorbikes.
"The permanent bridge was built with a width of seven meters and a length of 100 meters. Later in the Magelang Regency area, there will be a regional waste disposal site, which will become quite a solid route," he said.
Head of Public Works for Bina Marga and Cipta Karya, Central Java Province, AR. Hanung said that previously it had been approved for the construction of a more representative suspension bridge.
"But then many things developed, especially also for the arrangement of development areas, namely regional TPST in the Windusari area, then Magelang Regency proposed to become a permanent bridge, because the suspension bridge cannot be passed by four-wheeled vehicles," he said.

He said that with the construction of the permanent bridge finally changing everything, the road must also be repaired and widened both in the district and city.
Hanung conveyed that the physical construction in 2024 was IDR 48 billion for bridges and roads of about five kilometers.
"The bridge is only a bottom and floor construction because the commitment from the Ministry of PUPR will donate the steel frame above. The governor reviewed this to ensure his readiness," he said.
