Three Farmers In Indramayu Killed By Lightning
InDRAMAYU - Indramayu Police, West Java, stated that three farmers died from being struck by lightning while in the rice fields.
"We received reports from the public that three farmers died as a result of being struck by lightning," said Lelea Police Chief AKP Sayudin as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 4.
According to him, the three farmers who died were named Suradi (36), a resident of Kijaran Village, Lohyaksa District, Anto Priyanto (22) Cemara Village, Cantigi District, and Intention (26) Sukadadi Village, Arahan District, Indramayu Regency.
From the information obtained, the three farmers died after being struck by lightning on Thursday at around 11.00 WIB.
Where at the time of the incident the three were harvesting rice, then it rained and thunder fell, so the three of them took the initiative to take shelter first.
"But unfortunately when walking to a shady place, lightning struck the three victims," he said.

The incident occurred in the Bedongol block rice field area, Cempeh Village, Lelea District, Indramayu Regency.
At the time of the incident there were several other farmers who were harvesting rice, but when they were about to take shelter there was indeed a distance between the witnesses and the three victims.
The witnesses also had time to provide assistance to the victims, but the victims were unconscious and then taken to the CentraMedica Langut Indramayu Clinic.
"However, when they arrived at the clinic, the victims were declared dead," he said.
