Jokowi: I Am A Public Official And A Political Officer, If You Talk About Politics, You Can Dong
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo emphasized that he is a public official as well as a political official. Therefore it is natural for Jokowi to speak about the political situation.
This statement was made by Jokowi when asked about a meeting with high-ranking government coalition political parties at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta but did not invite the NasDem Party.
"In politics, it's normal, normal. And I am a public official as well as a political official. So it's normal if I talk about politics, that's okay," Jokowi said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 4.
Jokowi said that so far he has also spoken a lot about public services.
According to Jokowi, these two things are the duty of a president, but he will stop interfering when there is a determination from the General Elections Commission (KPU).
"Yes, this is indeed the task, the task of a resident. Only if there is a decision from my KPU..." said Jokowi while showing gestures raising both hands.
Jokowi said that in a meeting that lasted for approximately three hours on Tuesday (2/5) night, he discussed many things with high-ranking coalition political parties, especially regarding the politics concerned directly with the country in the future.
"Everything is being discussed, especially regarding politics that concerns the country in the future, what the challenges will be," said Jokowi.
