Jambi University Holds Urine Test 214 Campus Leaders
JAMBI - Jambi University (Unja) conducted a urine test on the 214 university leaders to ensure that there was no narcotics abuse in the campus environment.
Unja Chancellor Prof. Sutrisno said the purpose of the urine test was supported by the Jambi Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNPP) and it was hoped that through a urine test, it was confirmed that Unja could be free from drugs.
"Participants who take part in the activity are 214 leaders in all Unja environments ranging from the Chancellor, Deputy Chancellor, Head of Bureau, Head of UPT, Head and Secretary of the Institute, Dean and Deputy Dean, Director and Deputy Director of Post-Sarjana, Chair and Secretary of Department, Chairman and Secretary of Prodi, Head of Subdivision and Head of Subdivision, as well as all other leadership elements," he said in Jambi, Tuesday, May 2, confiscated by Antara.
The implementation of this urine test, he said, was initiated by the UNja Prevention and Eradication Task Force (P4GN) which was based on 3 legal grounds, namely, Presidential Instruction No. 2/2020 concerning the National Action Plan to Prevent and Eradicate the Abuse and Circulation of Narcotics Dark Narcotics and Narcotics Precursors for 2020-2024.
Then, Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 38 of 2019 concerning Prevention of Abuse and Dark Circulation of Narcotics and Narcotics Precursors within the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Finally, the Decree of the Task Force to Prevent the Abuse and Circulation of Narcotics and Narcotics Precursors at Jambi University for 2023-2024.
The Chancellor said that in this urine test, it was also in order to improve aspects of higher education services and build a drug-free campus integrity zone. Unja has also conducted urine tests for new students where 100 percent of students have just undergone a urine test.
He also asked all campus leaders to support the implementation of urine tests in order to make Unja a drug-free campus, because drugs are one of the extraordinary problems for campuses to eradicate.
Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni Teja Kaswari said this urine test was part of the effort of universities to clean up to make Campus Bersinar.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Jambi BNNP Eradication, Kombes Pol Agus Setiawan, appreciated the Unja in the implementation of the urine test.
"As the Head of the Eradication of the Jambi BNNP, I express my highest respect and appreciation for the ranks of the Unja in order to fight against drugs today," he said.
He wants to set an example for the environment on campus and leave a message for our surrounding environment against the dangers of drugs.
"Let us both show that we are ready to fight against drugs. Let's prove to the public that Unja is free to abuse and use of drugs," he said.
The P4GN UKJA Task Force Team has previously been active in socializing the prevention of narcotics abuse and illicit trafficking and narcotics precursors at 7 Faculty and Postgraduate Facilities at Jambi University, such as the installation of banners and banners from P4GN to the declaration of Unja as a "Drug Cleaner" Campus by conducting socialization and workshops on P4GN.
