Nutrition Adequacy At The Beginning Of Life Also Affects Obesity
JAKARTA - Obesity or obesity is also influenced by the adequacy of nutritional fulfillment at the beginning of life, namely from the womb to the child aged two years.
Director of Community Nutrition at the Ministry of Health, Doddy Izwardy, when contacted in Jakarta, Wednesday, said that the fulfillment of nutrition during the first 1000 days of life determines the condition of a person whether malnutrition is malnourished or malnourished which results in obesity.
"If at the beginning of life is given the initiation of early breastfeeding, breastfeeding, and adequate nutrition, in the future the child will be strong. When he grows up his body condition is maintained," said Doddy.
He emphasized that maintaining the condition of the child's body towards adulthood must start as a child. "If there is obesity, wanting to lose weight is very difficult," he added.
According to Doddy, public understanding, especially parents, about balanced nutrition is very important to avoid wrong parenting and eating patterns that can have an impact on obesity.

He argues that the current condition in society does not really pay attention to the condition of the child's body and misunderstands that healthy children are fat children.
Doddy said the Ministry of Health is currently building a nutrition surveillance system in all regions of Indonesia to monitor the growth and development of children based on accurate data that is integrated with the application.
This is done to improve the various shortcomings found in posyandu regarding monitoring the nutritional status of the community.
He explained that currently the Ministry of Health has only received 27 percent of the child's growing and development data which is integrated with the application system on computers or smartphones.
The goal is that the nutritional data of Indonesian children can be monitored to prevent malnutrition, stunting, or even obesity.
