The South Korean Defender is a Bone of Contention for MU and City, the Price is Still Cheap
JAKARTA - Manchester City will face their city rivals, Manchester United, to sign Napoli center back, Kim Min-jae. The player who is nicknamed 'The Monster' is reportedly priced at 40 million pounds, or around Rp. 740 billion.
The South Korean player has also attracted interest from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
SunSport understand City manager Pep Guardiola is an admirer of Kim who moved to Napoli from Fenerbahce last summer for £15m.
The 26-year-old player is considered very strong and aggressive. He is one of the hottest stars of Serie A after an amazing season.
Despite his quality, Kim apparently has a fairly low release clause, which is only £40 million.
Napoli actually wanted to offer a new contract, but the player is believed to want to move to England.
Meanwhile, City have an ample supply of centre-backs actually with Ruben Dias, John Stones, Nathan Ake, Manuel Akanji and Aymeric Laporte.
However, Guardiola is set to let Laporte go while Stones and Ake are likely to be drafted at full-back.
Apart from Kim, Guardiola also wants RB Leipzig defender, Josko Gvardiol. However, this one player has a bigger release clause, which is £97 million.
