Testing KRL Density At Rush Hour, Andre Rosiade: There Must Be Additional Trains
JAKARTA - DPR Commission VI member Andre Rosiade asked the government to immediately make a decision regarding the plan to import used KRL from Japan. This is because, said Andre, the Jabodetabek KRL is very congested during rush hour.
Andre admitted that he had tried to go directly to the commuter line to the DPR RI Building on the Rawabuntu-Pal Merah route during the rush hour to go to work at 06.21 WIB. He admitted that the train car he was traveling in was packed.
"It's difficult to get on the train line, so I'm fine at 06.21 minutes, the next route is 06.30, 9 minutes in between. It's very difficult to get into the train because it's so crowded, so it's really very crowded. So indeed there must be additional trains," he said in a Commission VI meeting with the Deputy Minister of SOEs II, Wednesday, April 12.
To solve this problem, Andre thinks that the government must immediately make a decision regarding the plan to import used KRL from Japan.
"I frankly still have time, now it's only April 2023, if we decide to retrofit, God willing, in 2024 there will be no need to import. But we must decide soon. Don't delay any longer. If necessary, before Eid, the government must make a decision. Don't take long decisions," he said.

Apart from adding a series of trains, according to Andre what also needs to be addressed is the infrastructure, in this case the station. According to him, this is to avoid a buildup of passengers when leaving the station.
“It takes time to get out of the station. Thank God, I have to admit that KCI Daop Jakarta's friends are professional, security directed us very professionally, so the passengers were very careful to go out tapping and including us leaving but it was very crowded," he explained.
"So Mr. Tiko, in addition to solving the problem of the railroad facilities, the infrastructure of the station must also be resolved. Because Manggarai and Tanah Abang are rich in cendol ice," he concluded.
